Зеленая мудрость
Мы никогда не узнаем цену воде, пока не станет сухо. (Томас Фуллер, 1732)
I completely agree with this statement. It often happens that people don’t appreciate something valuable until they lose it. Even now, when almost everyone is aware of water pollution, we still fail to fully understand its true worth. That’s why I believe this statement holds true.
I fully agree with this statement. It’s a common human tendency to take things for granted and not truly value them until they are lost or in danger of disappearing. This is especially true when it comes to essential resources like water. Many people continue to use water freely, not realizing the significance of preserving it until there’s a shortage or pollution crisis.
Despite growing awareness of the impact of pollution on water bodies, we often fail to grasp the long-term consequences of our actions. We still continue to waste water, pollute rivers, lakes, and oceans with chemicals, plastics, and waste. The situation is alarming because, as much as we acknowledge water pollution, we don’t treat water with the respect and care it deserves. We continue to consume it without considering how fragile and limited this resource is.
It’s only when water becomes scarce or when regions experience droughts, or when major rivers are heavily polluted, that the true value of clean and accessible water becomes evident. Unfortunately, by then, the damage may already be done, and we might be too late to undo the harm.
That’s why I strongly believe this statement is true: we often don’t realize the worth of something until it’s taken away from us, and water is no exception. Only when we start protecting and conserving water can we ensure that future generations will have access to this life-sustaining resource.
